Slimbridge  (4 miles) is home to an astounding array of wildlife including the world's largest collection of swans, geese, and ducks. A year round programme of walks, arts, events, workshops, talks and spectacular wildlife encounters are a fantastic way for everyone to connect to their natural surroundings.

Westonbirt Aboretum (10 miles) The National Arboretum is one of the most spectacular tree gardens in the world. An historical collection of over 3,000 different trees and shrub species many of which are rare or endangered in their native lands. Covering six hundred acres, the arboretum is an inspiring place to relax, get back to nature and indulge your senses.

Woodchester Mansion (5 Miles)
Hidden in a secluded Cotswold valley, untouched by time and the modern world, lies Woodchester Mansion, an unfinished masterpiece of Victorian building.

Dean Heritage Centre  (15 Miles)
The Dean Heritage Centre is run by the Dean Heritage Museum Trust, a registered charity formed in 1979 out of public concern that the heritage of the Forest of Dean was fast disappearing. Camp Mill was acquired in 1981 to house the Museum.

Edward Jenner Museum (6 Miles)
Edward Jenner's discovery of a vaccine made from cowpox against smallpox has now been developed into one of the most important parts of modern medicine - Immunology.

Berkeley Castle  (6 Miles) Re-opens April 5th!
In 1153 Maurice Berkeley completed this fortress by the Severn Estuary at the command of Henry II, and ever since has been the home of the Berkeley family.

Owlpen Manor  (6 Miles)
One of the most romantic small manor houses in the West of England. The Tudor manor is the lived-in medieval manor house of the de Olepennes, dating from 1450 to 1616, with minor early 18th century improvements.

Rococo Gardens (7 Miles)
The sole, complete survivor from the brief Rococo period of English garden design (1720-1760).

Lydney Park Gardens  (18 Miles)
An enchanting, secluded wooded valley with lakes, carpeted with daffodils, primroses and bluebells and filled with a profusion of rhododendrons, azaleas, magnolias, acers and other flowering shrubs and trees. There is also a Roman Settlement.

Severn Bore  (2 miles)

The Severn Bore is one of Britain's few truly spectacular natural phenomena. It is a large surge wave that can be seen in the estuary of the River Severn, where the tidal range is the 2nd highest in the world, being as much as 50 feet (approx. 15.4m).

Gloucester Cathedral  (8 miles)
